Quality Network

The Great Lakes Head Start Quality Network (Q-Net) serves Head Start programs in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The Q-Net partners include: CESA 5 in Portage, WI; Ohio State University in Columbus, OH; and, University of Illinois in Champaign, IL.

Mission Statement

The Region V Head Start Q-Net affiliated with Ohio State University is dedicated to enhancing the quality of Head Start organizations & their community partners. Our work with organizations is purposeful, planful, responsive, and supports our mutual commitment to children and families in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. State based teams, a central team and a pool of consultants make up the Quality Network. Together we facilitate organizational and professional development through technical assistance, training and information sharing.

Quality Improvement Center

The Illinois Q-Net QIC team consists of 3 Program Enhancement Specialists who work with their assigned Head Start grantees fulfilling the mission of Q-Net. A Professional Development Specialist is also assigned to Illinois to promote & further the early childhood professional development system in Illinois.

Quality Improvement Center for Disabilities

The Q-Net QIC-D mission is to enhance & support the capacity & performance of Head Start grantees to serve children with disabilities, birth to 5, & their families, through the provision of ongoing organization & staff development. 4 staff work in Illinois fulfilling the QIC-D mission: 2 with Head Start & 2 with Early Head Start grantees.
